Aversions

Aversions

Whatever we resists persists. When we resist something we feed it energy for it to continue to haunt us. Running away only gets the shadow following us. We cannot run away from our own shadows.

Look at all dislikes, displeasures alike and treat them all equally. They are there to show, to teach, to remind us, as warning signs as encouragements or lessons to learn.

At the time of writing my maxis usb mobile broadband keeps cutting out. Frustration may set in but as soon as I recognize it, I bring awareness to it and watch it dissolve.

Its pouring rain outside for the 2nd day in a row and I can’t be at any cafĂ© for a better internet connection. So what? I make the best out of it. Make useful even that which is not useful.

Storms, thunderstorms, pissing rain, loads and bucket full of rain pouring down. Welcome them all. Welcome the sun, the rain, the storm, … the floods – we can’t stop them but in the midst of Queensland floods and catastrophe we thrive as we see everyday heros emerge. Acts of kindness and selflessness from strangers, friends and family. Touching acts and gestures to help, to assist and lend a helping hand. Everybody chips in.

Accepting them all. The good times and the bad times. Accepting the imperfection in every moment of our lives – that is perfection. Learning to say “its ok” amidst all hell breaking loose – that’s true heaven within.
